☀️Finished in classic 3 Colour sunburst☀️
This absolute dream of a Tele has just arrived at Chordplay!
Made in Mexico in 1999, although you wouldn’t think so looking at it! The general condition is excellent, with the body still gleaming as is the hardware. The guitar is beautiful to play, set up nicely with minimal fret wear and delivers some stunning tones with a nice bright ‘honky tonk’ sound in the middle position.
The cosmetic imperfections present have been photographed, there’s two very small dings on the body and the decal has worn off the headstock (see pictures) I’ve tried to show any damage I can see on the photos, expect signs of wear commensurate with age.

The Fender Classic Series '72 Telecaster Thinline MN is a vintage-inspired guitar with an attractive 3 Colour Sunburst. This guitar takes many design features from Fender's second-generation Thinline Telecaster, introduced in 1971 to appeal to the developing rock music scene. It aims to deliver vintage sounds and feel with specifications and aesthetic touches taken straight from the '70s. The semi-hollow ash body delivers a bright and resonant tonality which is amplified by dual "Wide Range" humbuckers for a full frequency response. The maple neck provides an authentic vintage feel with its 7.25'' radius and small frets that are ideal for comfortable chordal playing. This guitar includes many '70s design touches such as the "Bullet" truss rod, a 3-bolt neck plate, vintage style tuners and the oversized pearloid pickguard. Less obvious is the Micro-Tilt neck adjustment; a unique feature that allows you to set up the optimum neck angle in relation to the body. This is a lightweight guitar that will evoke the pioneering spirit of the '70s, and will deliver a solid performance regardless of the style of music you choose to use it for.
Full Description
The Thinline Telecaster
The Fender Classic Series '72 Thinline Telecaster is a reissue of Fender's second-generation Telecaster, introduced in 1971. The 1971 Telecaster brought new humbucking pickups into the range and was built to appeal to the developing rock musicians of the time. The Classic Series Thinline Telecaster is a new version of a guitar that has been used by countless guitarists in all sorts of musical genres.
Lightweight Body
The Fender '72 Thinline Telecaster features a semi-hollow body which is lightweight and resonant. It responds with a bright and open tonality, helping to give power to chords and sympathetic overtones when playing solos. The ash body is finished in a lovely 3-tone sunburst and has a classy aesthetic when paired with the maple neck.
Vintage Feel
This Telecaster takes many playing specifications from the 1971 original, in order to give you an authentic playing feel. The neck has a comfortable "U" profile, while the fingerboard is mounted with 21 small frets for easy fingering. The fingerboard has a 7.25'' radius which makes chord playing comfortable and will feel very familiar if you have any experience of vintage instruments.
Wide Range Humbuckers
The original second-generation Thinline Telecaster introduced humbucking pickups to satisfy the demands of guitarists of the time. The Classic Series Telecaster features similar "Wide Range" humbuckers to deliver a full frequency response which makes the most of the hollow body design. The pickups are wired with a 3-way switch and master volume/tone controls for all your tone shaping requirements.
Vintage Aesthetics
This guitar includes many aesthetic features from 1970s Fender guitars. A single "F" hole and oversized perloid scratch plate provide an authentic look, along with a "Bullet" truss rod and 3-bolt neck plate. Furthermore, the string-through-body bridge and micro-tilt neck adjustment add '70s design touches that also enhance the stability and playability of the guitar. Even if the aesthetic of this Telecaster is over 40 years old, the construction and playability are completely up-to-date.
