The AH10 is already a scarce guitar in its own right, but this particular example has an especially intriguing history.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe were told by a reliable previous source that this guitar was once owned by Allan Holdsworth himself. Unfortunately there is no documentation accompanying the guitar that allows us to verify that provenance, so we are selling it purely as an Ibanez AH10 and making absolutely no claim that the reported ownership is proven.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat does make the story interesting is the way the guitar has been modified.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original AH10 configuration has been changed to a twin humbucker setup using Seymour Duncan pickups, with the electronics reduced to a single control. Holdsworth was closely associated with Seymour Duncan during this period and was well known for preferring very simple control layouts, so the modifications are certainly interesting in the context of the story. Again, we cannot prove who carried out the work or who previously owned the guitar, but it makes this a fascinating example.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEven without the provenance story, this is a superb Japanese-built 1980s Ibanez.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe deep red finish presents exceptionally well for a guitar now over 40 years old. There are a handful of small dings and marks, some wear around the edges of the headstock and the expected tarnishing and ageing to the neck plate and hardware, but overall it remains remarkably clean.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe ebony fingerboard feels superb and shows only minor fret wear. It plays beautifully with a fast, comfortable neck and a wonderfully direct, responsive feel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe twin Seymour Duncan humbuckers completely transform the character of the guitar.
