No artificial ageing, just genuine use and character.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt’s also a lovely weight for this style of guitar at 8lb 10oz, with a nice full neck profile rather than a skinny SG neck. It feels substantial in the hand but remains really comfortable and, most importantly, it plays absolutely superbly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTonally there’s loads going on. Despite the humbucker layout, there’s almost a P90-style bite and immediacy to it while still sitting firmly in that classic PAF territory. Lively, open and really usable, with the three-pickup configuration giving it a little more versatility than the usual SG setup.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCosmetically it presents extremely well for a 2004 guitar, although there are a couple of areas worth detailing properly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is an area of finish loss on the underside\/side of the neck close to the nut. This is cosmetic rather than a crack and has previously been sanded smooth, so there are no sharp edges or roughness when playing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is also some lacquer\/finish checking around the inside of the upper horn and neck joint area. We’ve inspected this closely and cannot feel any corresponding crack or movement in the timber, so everything suggests this is within the finish rather than structural.
