The grain under the Charcoal finish looks fantastic, while the maple board and PRS bird inlays give it a very different character from the more traditional mahogany and rosewood PRS models.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pickup layout is equally interesting. You get a pair of PRS 85\/15 “S” humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, with a PRS Designed AS-01 single coil in the centre. The AS-01 uses a combination of alnico and steel construction and adds another layer of clarity and bite between the two humbuckers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eControls consist of volume and tone, with a push\/pull function on the tone control, together with a 3 way toggle pickup selector. It gives you a broad range of usable sounds without overcomplicating the layout.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlayability is exactly what you would expect from PRS. The maple neck uses their Wide Thin profile, with a 25” scale, 22 frets and a 10” fingerboard radius.
