Here’s something a little different.

This 2001 Ibanez Ergodyne EDA900 is one of the most distinctive basses Ibanez ever produced, combining futuristic styling, innovative materials and advanced electronics into a genuinely unique instrument.

Built in Korea by Cor-Tek during the highly regarded early Ergodyne era, the EDA900 features a sculpted Luthite body. This lightweight composite material allowed Ibanez to create the dramatic flowing curves and ergonomic contours that made the Ergodyne series stand out from anything else on the market. More than twenty years later, it still looks like it belongs in the future.

Tonally, the EDA900 is equally impressive. Alongside the Ibanez DFR pickup, this bass features a Fishman piezo-equipped Mono-Rail bridge, allowing players to blend traditional magnetic bass tones with additional clarity, attack and acoustic-like character. The active EQA-PZ electronics offer extensive tonal shaping and make this an incredibly versatile bass for live or studio use.

This example is in excellent condition for its age. It has clearly seen very little use, with only a handful of light marks and minor cosmetic signs of handling. Even better, the original protective plastics remain fitted to the rear cavity covers, something rarely seen on a 24-year-old instrument.

A genuine cult classic from one of Ibanez’s most experimental periods and becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially in this condition.
