I had such a good experience with Chordplay Guitars and would really recommend them! I found a beautiful guitar of theirs online and was eager to put a deposit down before someone else beat me to it. Nicola was extremely helpful, replying quickly to my enquiry, even after business hours. Two days later, I was in their wonderful showroom, trying the guitar out. It's a really great place with plenty of interesting guitars and basses to nerd out over, and some comfy sofas to sit on while you try them out! Definitely worth a special trip to visit in person.
I had looked in a few shops for a new guitar for my son who is just beginning his guitar journey and received the best service from Nicola at Chordplay, so this is the first place I took him. There was a wide range of used guitars in excellent condition meaning we were getting more guitar for our money than if we bought new. He spent time having a look at the choices before spotting one that he loved and was in my budget! Nicola encouraged him to try it out, played a bit so he could hear it and also encouraged him to try some others. She was really patient, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. There’s loads of stock, accessories etc so the shop is well worth a visit, and we look forward to supporting the shop over the coming years!
I recently found out that we still had an independent guitar shop in the area, and called in for a look round, buy some cables and strings, and have a mooch. I played a few guitars without any pressure from Mike (Nicola was away) to buy anything, and left with my small bag of bits. 2 days later I was back to buy the lovely 2nd hand Balaguer I had tried. It's a great little shop, and I'll definitely be back. The Balaguer is awesome!
I've just found Chordplay Guitars at Darwen. What a great find . With Spectrum and PMT closing down I've had to go as far as York and Sheffield to trade my guitars until I found this Lancashire hidden gem. Staff were friendly, guitars had a great selection and the trade in offer for my Ovation Legend Exotic Wood Burl was very fair . The relaxed atmosphere of the showroom and the casual easy going approach meant there was no inertia selling and I felt both parties were happy with a very good deal for us both. Would highly recommend this shop for second hand trading.
Purchased a beautiful epiphone Les Paul yesterday from the chordplay team and what a pleasure it was. They were very knowledgeable about the stock they had and we found the perfect guitar for me. I also traded 3 of my older guitars in against the new one and was offered a very good price. Thank you both and Millie and Lunar for the hospitality. I will definitely be coming back very soon!
