A stunning Chapman ML1 Hybrid in Cali Sunset Red, featuring a gloss flame maple veneer top, mahogany body, roasted maple neck, roasted maple fingerboard, HSS pickup layout and a Chapman 2-point tremolo with steel block. This is a seriously versatile modern electric guitar, built for players who want classic hot-rodded tones with a much more refined, contemporary feel.

 

This example is in beautiful used condition. There are some light dings to the back of the neck and light signs of play wear, but overall it presents extremely well and looks fantastic. The Cali Sunset Red finish really suits the flame maple top, and the roasted maple neck gives it a lovely premium feel in the hand.

 

The HSS setup makes this a very flexible guitar. You get Chapman Venus Witch Zerø single coils in the neck and middle positions for clear, articulate tones, paired with a Chapman Sonorous Zerø humbucker in the bridge for a much bigger, punchier sound. The 5-way switching also gives you split bridge and middle options, making it ideal for everything from clean rhythm work through to heavier lead tones.

 

The neck is a satin-finished roasted maple C profile with rolled fingerboard edges, 22 jumbo frets and a 25.5” scale length. It feels fast, comfortable and modern without being too thin or clinical. The recessed bolt-on neck joint, rear tummy cut, arm carve and heel contour also make it a very comfortable guitar to play either standing or seated.

 

A lot of guitar for the money, and a great choice if you want something modern, versatile and a little different from the usual Strat-style options.
