2010 PRS SE Mark Tremonti – Natural – Early Dot Inlay Model

A really nice early example of the PRS SE Mark Tremonti, finished in Natural and dating from 2010.

 

These earlier Tremonti SE models have a slightly different character to the later versions, most obviously thanks to the traditional dot inlays rather than the later PRS birds, and this Natural finish really suits the stripped-back, no-nonsense look of the guitar.

 

Developed with Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge and Creed, the SE Tremonti was built around a solid mahogany construction with a set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and PRS-designed humbuckers, giving it the weight, sustain and punch you would expect from a single-cut rock guitar.

 

The neck uses PRS’s Wide Fat profile, giving it a substantial, comfortable feel in the hand without becoming cumbersome. Combined with the 25” scale and 22 frets, it feels familiar very quickly and works brilliantly for everything from heavier rhythm playing through to lead work.

 

A pair of PRS-designed humbuckers handle the electronics, with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three-way toggle selector on the upper bout. It is a simple, proven layout and gives plenty of scope for balancing the two pickups independently.

 

The guitar is fitted with the PRS Designed Stoptail bridge, PRS-designed tuners and nickel hardware, keeping the whole package clean and straightforward.

 

This one also weighs in at approximately 7lb 8oz, giving it a reassuringly solid feel without becoming excessively heavy.

Condition

 

Overall, this is a very attractive used example and it still presents really well for a guitar dating from 2010.

 

There are some chips to the lacquer on the back, together with minor surface scratches and general playwear throughout.

 

There is also an area of scratching to the front which is mainly visible when the guitar catches the light. We have photographed this as clearly as possible.

 

There are other small marks and signs of use consistent with the guitar’s age, but nothing we feel detracts significantly from the overall appearance.

 

There are no structural issues that we are aware of, and the guitar plays extremely well and sounds fantastic.

 

As always with a used instrument of this age, there may be small cosmetic marks that are difficult to capture fully in photographs, so please study the images carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.

 

At £449, this is a great-value way into an earlier PRS SE Tremonti, and the combination of Natural finish, dot inlays and the older SE styling gives it a character all of its own.
