2016 Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded – Worn Ebony – Gibson Gig Bag

A fantastic, played-in example of Gibson’s stripped-back Les Paul Studio Faded, finished in the less commonly seen Worn Ebony / Satin Ebony with chrome hardware.

 

This 2016 model has clearly been played and enjoyed, and the thin faded finish has developed exactly the sort of honest wear these guitars are known for. There is noticeable finish wear around a number of the body edges where the colour has worn through towards the wood, along with various small marks, scratches and general signs of use across the guitar.

 

It certainly isn’t a case-queen, but it presents brilliantly as a genuine player’s Les Paul and the wear suits the character of the model beautifully. Please study the photographs carefully as we have shown the cosmetic condition in detail.

 

At 8 lb 4.5 oz, it is also a very comfortable weight for a Les Paul.

 

The Studio Faded format strips the Les Paul back to the essentials while retaining the construction and feel players want from a Gibson USA instrument. The combination of a maple top, mahogany body, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard gives it that familiar Les Paul response, while the satin finish gives the guitar a more open, played-in feel.

 

A pair of Burstbucker Pro humbuckers provide the classic Gibson combination of warmth, punch and articulation, with plenty of output when pushed but enough definition for cleaner work too.

Used and genuinely played.

 

There is considerable cosmetic wear to the thin faded finish around several body edges, along with smaller chips, marks, scratches and surface wear elsewhere. This is particularly characteristic of these Gibson faded finishes and gives the guitar a naturally worn-in appearance.

 

The fretboard and frets present well, and mechanically the guitar is ready to play.
