A beautifully presented 2017 Epiphone Les Paul Standard finished in classic Gloss Black, and this one really has been looked after.

 

For a guitar now approaching a decade old, it has seen remarkably little use and still presents extremely well. The black finish, cream plastics, chrome hardware and traditional trapezoid inlays give it that timeless Les Paul look, and visually this is a particularly clean example.

 

The traditional construction gives you a mahogany body with maple top, paired with a set mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. It is a familiar Les Paul recipe, delivering plenty of warmth, sustain and midrange punch.

 

A pair of humbuckers provide the classic Les Paul voice, with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three-way selector switch. From warm neck tones through to biting bridge sounds, it covers exactly the ground you would expect from a traditional Les Paul Standard.

 

Hardware includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge and StopBar tailpiece, Grover tuners and chrome hardware throughout.

 

This one weighs approximately 9lb 1oz, giving it that reassuringly solid Les Paul feel.

Condition

 

This guitar presents extremely well for its age and appears to have had very little home use.

 

There are some light surface scratches and minor handling marks visible under close inspection, particularly as you would expect with a high-gloss black finish.

 

There is also some light tarnishing and age-related marking to the chrome hardware.

 

Beyond that, it is a really clean example with no major cosmetic issues that we can see. As with any used instrument, there may be very small marks that are difficult to capture in photographs, so please study the images carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.

 

It plays beautifully and is a lovely example of the classic Epiphone Les Paul Standard formula.

 

At £399, this represents a lot of guitar for the money, especially in this sort of condition.
