Pickups for pros. The pickups which have been carefully selected for this model will take your ears on a sonic journey. A Direct Mount Wolfgang humbucker in the bridge position has tonnes of quality locked inside its coiled wires. Being a humbucker, it offers plenty of powerful output, whilst making each note you play sound full and articulate. When using a lot of gain, the attack, aggression, and saturated crunch are dialled up to 11, whilst cleaner settings will sound clear and bright.

The neck pickup, which is also a Direct Mount Wolfgang humbucker, will give you a lifetime of satisfaction when you're playing lead. Whether you're shredding like lightning or playing slowly and with feel, each note will be sharply defined and have a luscious, well balanced tone which will shoot straight through to your heart like an arrow. With these top class magnets pumping out divine tone, you'll be equipped to conquer any stage or song with complete confidence

Baked for shredding brilliance

In order to reach the soaring heights of Van Halen's performance, you need a guitar that is simply effortless to play. Luckily, EVH has sculpted every detail of the Wolfgang to ensure you can perform with complete freedom. A baked maple neck is shaped into the traditional Wolfgang Backshape, with a compound radius that extends further up the fretboard. What this means, is players will experience optimum comfort throughout the entirety of its scale length. So you can unleash those shredding licks with ease.
