Something a little special here.

 

This is a PRS SE Mark Holcomb Signature Model in Holcomb Blueburst, but there’s an extra detail that makes this particular example considerably more interesting: the guitar has been hand signed by Mark Holcomb himself.

 

It is in mint condition, having seen only very light home use. There are only the slightest surface and handling signs if examined closely, and overall it presents beautifully. It also comes complete with its PRS gig bag.

 

Designed in collaboration with Mark Holcomb of Periphery, this is one of the more distinctive models in the PRS SE range. The combination of its extended 25.5” scale length, exceptionally flat 20” radius ebony fingerboard, Wide Thin satin maple neck and 24 frets gives it a noticeably different feel from a conventional Custom 24.

 

The Holcomb Blueburst finish is particularly impressive over the quilted maple veneer, with the figuring changing dramatically depending on the light. Underneath is the familiar PRS combination of a maple top and mahogany body.

 

Electronics come courtesy of Mark Holcomb’s signature Seymour Duncan Scarlet and Scourge humbuckers. Designed for clarity and articulation even with lower tunings and substantial amounts of gain, they remain remarkably defined for complex chord work while having more than enough output for heavier playing.

 

A push/pull tone control adds coil tapping, while the three way blade selector keeps the layout straightforward and versatile.

 

The fixed PRS Plate Style string through bridge gives the guitar a direct, solid feel with excellent sustain, while the black chrome hardware finishes the whole guitar beautifully.

 

And of course, this particular example carries Mark Holcomb’s signature on the rear control cover, turning an already desirable signature model into something considerably more unusual.
