The Sheeran by Lowden S-04 is a beautifully made, compact electro-acoustic designed by legendary luthier George Lowden and created in collaboration with Ed Sheeran. Featuring a solid Sitka spruce top, figured walnut back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup system, this is a premium small-bodied acoustic with a surprisingly rich, deep and beautifully balanced voice.

 

Despite its comfortable dimensions, the S-04 delivers excellent projection, warmth and clarity. It responds beautifully to both fingerstyle playing and strumming, while the short 24.8” scale and compact body make it exceptionally comfortable to play. The LR Baggs Element VTC system also makes it an excellent choice for live performance or recording.

 

This example has seen light home use and remains in excellent overall condition. There are a few light scratches and signs of playwear, all clearly shown in the photographs, but it has been very well cared for and presents beautifully. It plays extremely well and feels every bit as refined as you would expect from a Lowden-designed instrument.

 

The figured walnut back and sides are particularly attractive, while the almost natural, lightly finished construction allows the grain and character of the woods to remain the focus.
