Tanglewood Parlour Resonator Acoustic Guitar Natural Finish – Used

 

A really interesting and unusual Tanglewood resonator with a compact parlour-style body, natural finish and striking chrome resonator assembly.

 

This is an older discontinued Tanglewood model and, unusually, there is no visible model number, serial information or date marking that allows us to identify the exact production model with confidence. Rather than speculate, we are listing it simply and accurately as a Tanglewood parlour-size resonator.

 

It has a beautifully traditional appearance, combining a natural spruce-style top with dark wood back and sides, twin F-holes and a large polished chrome resonator cover. The compact body and 12th-fret neck joint give it a very traditional feel, while the solid headstock and enclosed chrome machine heads differentiate it from several of Tanglewood’s better-known slotted-headstock resonator models.

 

Sonically it delivers exactly the character you would want from this type of instrument, with plenty of metallic bite, projection and that distinctive resonator attack. It works brilliantly for blues, roots, slide playing, folk and anything that benefits from a more percussive acoustic voice.

Condition

 

This guitar is in very good used condition overall and presents extremely well.

 

There are light surface scratches and general minor playwear throughout, along with a number of small dings, marks and scrapes consistent with normal use. The gloss finish naturally highlights some of the lighter surface marking when viewed under strong light.

 

The chrome resonator cover also shows light surface marking from use.

 

Nothing detracts significantly from the overall appearance and, as the photographs show, it remains a very attractive instrument.
