A true piece of Fender history, this original 1979 Fender 25th Anniversary Stratocaster celebrates twenty-five years of the world’s most iconic electric guitar. Finished in the exclusive Porsche Silver metallic finish with the commemorative engraved neck plate, this anniversary model remains one of the most desirable instruments from the late CBS era.

This example is completely original where it matters, retaining its original single coil pickups, original Fender hard case, original Certificate of Merit, original tremolo arm and anniversary booklet. It has been freshly restrung, professionally checked over and is playing extremely well with that unmistakable bright, punchy late-’70s Stratocaster tone.

This isn’t a museum piece, it’s an honest vintage guitar that has clearly been played and enjoyed throughout its 46-year life. The most notable cosmetic feature is the extensive lacquer flaking across the maple fingerboard, where sections of the original clear finish have naturally lifted and worn away over decades of use. Importantly, this affects the lacquer finish rather than the maple itself, and is something commonly seen on well-played vintage Fender maple necks of this period. The neck remains structurally sound, the frets still have plenty of life remaining and the guitar plays beautifully.

Elsewhere the body shows various chips, dings, scratches and cosmetic wear consistent with a genuine vintage instrument, while the hardware has developed attractive natural oxidation and patina.
