2021 Fender Player Telecaster – Tidepool – Maple Fingerboard

 

A really clean example of one of Fender’s most popular Mexican-built Telecasters, finished in the superb Tidepool with a maple fingerboard.

 

This 2021 Fender Player Telecaster is exactly what the Player Series does so well: classic Fender styling and unmistakable Tele character, combined with a slightly more modern neck feel and hardware specification that makes it equally comfortable as an everyday working guitar.

 

The alder body is finished in gloss polyester, and Tidepool remains one of the standout finishes from this generation. It changes beautifully depending on the light, moving between a rich metallic blue and lighter turquoise tones, and looks particularly good paired with the maple neck and parchment pickguard.

 

The maple neck uses Fender’s comfortable Modern C profile, together with a 9.5” fingerboard radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets. It gives the guitar a familiar Fender feel while being extremely easy to get around for both rhythm and lead playing.

 

A pair of Player Series Alnico 5 Tele single-coils provide the classic Telecaster combination of snap, bite and clarity. The three-way selector gives you the traditional bridge, bridge and neck, and neck pickup combinations, with straightforward master volume and tone controls.

 

Fender also fitted the Player Tele with a modern six-saddle string-through-body bridge with block steel saddles, allowing accurate individual intonation while retaining the direct response and sustain expected from a Telecaster.

Condition

 

This is a very nice, well-cared-for example.

 

There is some normal light playwear, including fine surface scratches and small handling marks that can be seen under close inspection, but there are no significant knocks or dings that particularly detract from the guitar.

 

There are no cracks or structural issues, and overall it presents extremely well for a 2021 instrument.
