2022 PRS SE McCarty 594 Singlecut Standard – McCarty Tobacco Sunburst

A superb example of the PRS SE McCarty 594 Singlecut Standard, finished in the beautifully understated McCarty Tobacco Sunburst. This is a seriously classy guitar, combining the familiar feel and character of a traditional single-cut with the build quality, playability and attention to detail that PRS do so well.

 

Built around a solid mahogany body with PRS’s shallow violin carve, the McCarty 594 has a substantial, resonant feel without being cumbersome. The mahogany Pattern Vintage neck and 24.594” scale give it a slightly different character to the more familiar 25” PRS models, with a comfortable, played-in feel and plenty of natural sustain.

 

A pair of PRS 58/15 LT “S” humbuckers deliver warm, articulate humbucker tones with excellent clarity. Each pickup has its own volume and push/pull tone control, allowing either pickup to be coil tapped for brighter, more open sounds. Combined with the traditional three-way toggle, there is a huge amount of usable tonal variation available without making the guitar unnecessarily complicated.

 

The two-piece PRS bridge, vintage-style tuners, bound rosewood fingerboard and classic bird inlays finish the guitar beautifully.

 

Condition

 

This is a cherished 2022 example and remains in very nice overall condition.

 

There are a handful of tiny surface marks and signs of light use if inspected closely, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance. The nickel hardware has developed some tarnishing and light patina, particularly around the pickups and bridge, which is visible in our detailed photographs and entirely cosmetic.

 

The high-gloss Tobacco Sunburst finish still presents beautifully and the back is particularly clean. It has clearly been looked after rather than heavily gigged.

 

The guitar plays very nicely and all electronics operate exactly as they should.

 

Weight is approximately 7lb 3.9oz.
