Finished in stunning Frost Gold with a matching painted headstock, gold hardware and mirror-style gold pickguard, the John 5 Signature Telecaster is one of the most distinctive Telecasters Fender and Squier have ever produced. Originally released as a limited artist model, these don’t come up for sale often and are becoming increasingly sought after by collectors, John 5 fans and players wanting something a little different from the usual Telecaster formula.

 

This 2020 example is in absolutely cherished condition. The guitar presents beautifully and is remarkably clean throughout, still retaining the protective plastic film on the pickguard. The only point worth mentioning is some very minor tarnishing to the control plate and knobs, which is common on gold-finished hardware and purely cosmetic.

 

At just 8lb 9oz, it’s a comfortable weight and balances nicely on a strap.

 

Unlike a traditional Telecaster, this model features a pair of custom humbuckers and John 5’s unique control layout. The dual-volume setup allows for quick kill-switch effects using the upper bout toggle switch, while the humbuckers deliver everything from tight, aggressive rock tones to warm cleans and soaring lead sounds.
