A serious professional valve head from Blackstar’s flagship Series One range, this is the 100 watt 6L6 version, supplied with its original four-button footswitch and a substantial live-in flight case.

 

This particular amp was previously used professionally, but the owner stopped using it in 2018. Just before it was put into storage it was serviced and revalved, with the service/inspection sticker still present on the rear of the amplifier.

 

It has now been tested by us and is working exactly as it should. It sounds huge, with masses of clean headroom, excellent crunch tones and all the gain you could realistically need.

 

The Series One 100 was designed as a genuinely professional touring amplifier. Four footswitchable channels give you Clean, Crunch, OD1 and OD2, with independent gain and volume controls, Blackstar’s ISF tone shaping, Resonance and Presence controls and the DPR power reduction system.

 

The DPR control is particularly useful, allowing the response and power of the amplifier to be reduced while retaining the character of the output stage, making this far more usable away from a full-size stage than the 100 watt rating might initially suggest.

Condition

 

The amplifier is in good used condition for a professional piece of equipment of this type.

 

There are the expected light marks, scuffs and signs of use to the amp itself, while the flight case naturally shows considerably more wear from transport and professional use, including scratches, marks and wear to the metalwork.

 

Nothing detracts from its operation and, importantly, the amp was serviced and revalved shortly before being retired from professional use in 2018.
