🌟 2017 PRS SE Zach Myers Semi-Hollow 🌟

 

A lovely example of the earlier PRS SE Zach Myers, and one that has clearly had a very easy life.

 

Finished with a beautifully figured flame maple top over a chambered mahogany body, this 2017 model has the single F-hole, natural mahogany back and neck, rosewood fingerboard and PRS bird inlays that make these instantly recognisable.

 

Condition is excellent for a guitar approaching ten years old. There are a handful of small lacquer chips and little marks around the back and edges, which we have deliberately photographed close up, along with the usual very light surface scratches and signs of play. Viewed normally, though, it presents extremely well and has obviously been cherished rather than heavily gigged.

 

The semi-hollow construction is a big part of what makes the Zach Myers different from the rest of the SE single-cut range. It keeps the guitar comfortable and gives it a slightly more open, lively character, while still retaining the punch and warmth you would expect from a mahogany-bodied PRS.

 

This generation also gets the shorter 24.5” scale, chunky Wide Fat neck profile and satin-finished mahogany neck. It feels substantial without being cumbersome and has that smooth, worn-in feel that suits this style of guitar brilliantly.

 

A pair of PRS 245 “S” humbuckers handle the electronics, controlled in the traditional twin-volume, twin-tone layout with a three-way toggle. Warm and full when you want them to be, but with enough definition to stop things becoming muddy.

 

The combination of the unusual faded grey-green flame top, natural mahogany and cream pickup rings gives this particular one a fantastic look too. It’s a finish you simply don’t see on the current Zach Myers models.

Condition

 

Excellent cherished condition overall.

 

There are several small lacquer chips and minor marks around the back and edges, together with light surface scratches and normal play wear. We’ve photographed these areas closely so there are no surprises.

 

Nothing particularly distracting in normal use and the guitar still looks exceptionally smart for a 2017 instrument.
