2024 Ibanez RG470DX Tokyo Midnight

A very clean 2024 example of the Ibanez RG470DX in Tokyo Midnight, one of the better-looking finishes in the current RG range.

 

This one has had very little use and is close to mint overall. There are some visible handling marks and light surface scratches, together with a few marks in the area where a scratchplate would traditionally sit, but nothing heavy and no significant knocks or damage. The gloss finish still presents extremely well and the guitar looks very sharp in person.

The RG470DX is built around the classic Ibanez formula of a fast Wizard neck, 24 jumbo frets, H-S-H pickup layout and double-locking tremolo system. It is aimed squarely at players who want speed, upper-fret access and a wide range of tones without stepping into much more expensive territory.

 

Wizard III Neck

 

The Wizard III maple neck is one of the big reasons these guitars are so easy to play.

 

It has the slim, flat profile associated with the RG series, combined with a 400mm fretboard radius and 24 jumbo frets, making it particularly suited to faster lead work, wide bends and lower action setups.

 

The jatoba fingerboard is finished with the distinctive sharktooth inlays, which suit the angular RG styling perfectly.

 

Quantum H-S-H Pickups

 

The pickup configuration gives you plenty of flexibility.

 

You get Quantum humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions with a Quantum single-coil in the middle, all controlled via a 5-way selector.

 

That gives you the heavier humbucker tones most players expect from an RG, while still providing brighter and cleaner combinations from the middle positions.

 

Edge-Zero II Tremolo

 

The Edge-Zero II double-locking tremolo gives this guitar the full RG experience.

 

Combined with the locking nut, it is designed for much more aggressive tremolo use while helping the guitar retain tuning stability.

 

The tremolo arm is included.

Condition

 

Excellent, very lightly used condition.

 

There are some light handling marks and surface scratches visible under direct light, particularly around the front of the body and in the area where a scratchplate would normally sit.

 

There is nothing significant and no heavy wear. Overall, it remains extremely clean for a used guitar and presents very close to mint.
