2020 PRS SE 245 Singlecut – Wilkinson Humbuckers

 

A very usable 2020 PRS SE 245 that has seen some play, but still has plenty going for it.

 

The SE 245 is one of the more traditional guitars in the PRS range, with its shorter 24.5” scale length, mahogany construction, Wide Fat neck profile and familiar four-knob layout. It has a comfortable, substantial feel and suits anyone looking for a single-cut guitar without going down the usual Les Paul route.

 

This example has had the original pickups replaced with a pair of Wilkinson humbuckers. We’re not going to dress that up as an upgrade because that comes down to personal preference, but they sound excellent in the guitar and suit it really well.

 

Condition

 

This one is not the cleanest example we’ve had, and we’ve priced it accordingly.

 

There are a number of lacquer chips, together with quite a lot of pick scratching and surface wear across the front of the body. We have photographed these areas very closely and under direct light, which makes them look more severe in the pictures than they generally appear in the flesh.

 

There are also the usual handling marks and light signs of use elsewhere.

 

The important thing is that none of this affects how the guitar plays. It remains a very enjoyable instrument and represents a strong way into a PRS SE singlecut at £399.
