A good-looking Gretsch with plenty of classic semi-hollow character, but in a more compact and manageable body size.

 

This is a 2022 Gretsch G5655T Electromatic Center Block Jr. Single-Cut with Bigsby, finished in a deep metallic burgundy/wine colour that looks fantastic under the light. The smaller Center Block Jr. body makes this a really comfortable option if you love the Gretsch look and sound but don’t necessarily want a full-size hollowbody.

 

The centre-block construction gives the guitar a little more focus and resistance to feedback than a traditional fully hollow Gretsch, while still retaining plenty of that open, resonant character.

 

The guitar is fitted with a pair of Gretsch humbuckers, giving you everything from clear, articulate cleans through to warm blues tones and driven rock sounds. Add the Bigsby vibrato and you’ve got exactly the sort of expressive feel these guitars are known for.

 

Condition

 

Overall this guitar is in very good used condition.

 

There are some light scratches and surface marks to the front and rear from normal use, along with a few small marks which we have photographed closely.

 

The chrome hardware also shows a noticeable amount of tarnishing and ageing, particularly around the Bigsby, tuners, control knobs and other plated parts. Some of this may improve with polishing, but we have deliberately photographed and described it as it currently presents rather than trying to hide it.

 

Despite the cosmetic wear, it remains a very smart-looking guitar and presents far better in person than close-up photographs can sometimes suggest.
