Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Les Paul Custom Widow Orange Burst 2025

 

This is one of the most striking Les Pauls Epiphone has produced in recent years. The Les Paul Custom Widow takes the familiar Custom formula and gives it a much darker, more dramatic look, with its deep Orange Burst finish, heavily figured flame maple top, colour-matched multi-ply binding and distinctive Widow headstock detailing.

 

This particular example is a 2025 guitar and is in superb condition. It has seen very little use and is about as close to a new example as you are likely to find without paying the full new price.

 

Condition

 

The guitar is in exceptional used condition with only the lightest signs of handling and play.

 

The previous owner preferred the cleaner look without the pickguard, so it has been removed. The original pickguard is included and the modification is completely reversible. If the buyer would prefer the guitar supplied with the pickguard refitted, we are happy to do this before dispatch.

 

There are no significant knocks, chips or damage that we can see. The gloss finish presents extremely well throughout, and the figured top is particularly impressive in person.

 

Weight is approximately 8lb 11oz.

Inspired By Gibson Collection

 

The Custom Widow sits within Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson range and combines classic Les Paul construction with some genuinely impressive appointments.

 

At its core is a mahogany body topped with highly figured flame maple. The mahogany provides the depth, warmth and sustain associated with a good Les Paul, while the maple top gives the notes a little more attack and definition.

 

The whole guitar is wrapped in distinctive colour-matched 7-ply binding, which works beautifully with the Orange Burst finish and gives the Widow a look unlike the standard Les Paul Custom.

 

ProBucker Custom Pickups

 

A pair of Epiphone ProBucker Custom humbuckers provide the sound.

 

These are designed to capture the character of classic Gibson-style humbuckers, with plenty of warmth and harmonic detail while retaining enough clarity for more articulate playing.

 

The neck pickup is smooth, full and creamy, ideal for blues, classic rock and lead work, while the bridge has the bite and definition needed for stronger rhythm tones and higher-gain sounds.

 

With separate volume and tone controls for each pickup, plus a three-way selector, there is plenty of scope to dial in everything from warm, rounded cleans through to thick overdriven Les Paul tones.

 

Premium Electronics

 

Another welcome feature is the use of CTS potentiometers, giving the controls a more substantial, smooth feel and providing greater control over volume and tone changes.

 

It is one of those details that helps separate this model from more basic Epiphone Les Pauls.

 

Neck & Fingerboard

 

The mahogany neck uses Epiphone’s Modern Medium C profile, giving it a comfortable middle ground between a chunky vintage neck and a much slimmer modern profile.

 

An ebony fingerboard is another premium touch and suits the Custom specification perfectly, both visually and in feel.

 

Large pearloid block inlays continue the Custom aesthetic, while the 24.75” scale length gives it the familiar Les Paul feel.
