This is about as close to buying a new guitar as you’re likely to get without actually buying new.

 

A 2025 Epiphone Les Paul Special in TV Yellow from the Inspired by Gibson Collection. It was bought new by its previous owner, played for perhaps ten minutes at home and then traded to us. The protective film is still on the pickguard and, aside from the possibility of the tiniest handling marks, it is essentially indistinguishable from new.

 

The Les Paul Special is one of Gibson’s simplest and most enduring designs, and this Epiphone version stays very close to the character of the original 1950s single cutaway model.

 

The mahogany body gives it that familiar solid, resonant feel, while the TV Yellow finish, black pickguard and cream button tuners give it the classic Special look.

 

A pair of Epiphone P-90 PRO soapbar pickups sit at the heart of the guitar. They have the clarity and response you’d expect from a single coil, but with considerably more body, midrange and output. Clean tones are open and articulate, while adding gain brings out the raw, punchy character that makes a good P90 guitar so addictive.

 

The electronics use CTS pots, giving the volume and tone controls a quality feel and a smooth, usable sweep.

 

The neck has Epiphone’s 50s Vintage profile, giving it a reassuringly substantial feel without becoming cumbersome. The laurel fingerboard carries 22 medium jumbo frets, while a Graph Tech nut and vintage style Deluxe tuners help keep everything stable and dependable.

 

At the other end, the traditional Lightning Bar wraparound bridge keeps the design beautifully simple and contributes to the direct, lively response these guitars are known for.

Condition

 

The condition is exceptional.

 

This guitar was purchased new in 2025 and has barely been played. The original protective plastic remains on the pickguard.

 

There may be the smallest handling marks from being taken out of the box, handled and photographed, but there is nothing we would consider significant.

 

The frets, neck, finish and hardware all present beautifully.

 

For all practical purposes, this is a nearly new guitar at a considerably lower price.
