Chordplay Guitars – Proud Faith Guitars Retailer

We’re delighted to welcome Faith Guitars to Chordplay Guitars as one of our latest brands.

Established in 2002, Faith has become one of the most respected names in acoustic guitars, earning numerous awards and a loyal following among players who appreciate outstanding craftsmanship, carefully selected tonewoods and excellent acoustic performance.

Designed in the UK under the guidance of renowned British luthier Patrick James Eggle, Faith guitars are handcrafted in Indonesia, combining traditional guitar-building skills with thoughtful modern design.

We’re extremely impressed by the quality of these instruments and delighted to offer them to our customers. Our first three models are now available to view and try in our Darwen showroom, open seven days a week.

Faith FKV Naked Venus – Natural Satin

An award-winning model and one of Faith’s best-known acoustic designs, the Naked Venus combines a beautifully responsive all-solid body with a comfortable cutaway shape and high-quality Fishman electronics.

The Naked series follows a simple philosophy: concentrate on the materials and construction that make a guitar sound exceptional, while keeping the appearance natural and understated.

Rather than covering the instrument in heavy gloss lacquer or unnecessary decoration, Faith uses a thin, two-stage satin finish that showcases the timber and allows the body to resonate freely.

The result is a wonderfully expressive acoustic with excellent clarity, warmth and projection.

All-Solid Tonewood Construction

The FKV features a solid Engelmann spruce top, paired with solid mahogany back and sides.

Engelmann spruce is particularly well regarded for its sensitivity and dynamic response. It reacts beautifully to lighter playing while retaining the clarity and headroom required for more energetic strumming.

The solid mahogany back and sides complement this with warmth, a rounded midrange and excellent tonal balance.

Importantly, this is an entirely solid-wood guitar, not a solid-top instrument with laminated back and sides.

The soundboard also features hand-scalloped, quarter-sawn spruce bracing, designed to allow the top to move freely while maintaining the strength and stability required for years of playing.

Indonesian Ebony Fingerboard & Bridge

The current FKV specification features an Indonesian ebony fingerboard and matching Indonesian ebony bridge.

These premium appointments provide a smooth playing surface, excellent durability and a beautifully understated contrast against the natural spruce and mahogany.

The mahogany neck features Faith’s Patrick James Eggle-designed bolt-on construction and a smooth satin finish.

A 16-inch fingerboard radius, comfortable 43mm nut width and 12th-fret mother-of-pearl ‘F’ inlay complete the design.

The Faith Venus Body Shape

The Venus has been a central part of Faith’s range since the company’s launch in 2002.

Its auditorium-inspired shape combines a 15-inch lower bout with a slightly slimmer body depth, giving players an excellent balance between comfort and acoustic projection.

The FKV is equally at home with fingerstyle playing, delicate acoustic passages and full strumming, while the cutaway allows easy access to the upper frets.

It’s a remarkably versatile design and one of the main reasons the Venus has remained so popular.

Fishman Presys 1 Electronics

For live performance, recording or amplification at home, the Naked Venus is fitted with the reliable Fishman Presys 1 preamp and Sonicore undersaddle pickup.

The discreet side-mounted system includes:

* Master volume control

* EQ contour control

* Phase switch for feedback management

* Built-in digital tuner

* Undersaddle Sonicore pickup

The output jack is incorporated into the end strap button, while the battery compartment is separately accessible.

The system provides a clear, natural amplified sound while remaining simple to operate.
