THE RETURN OF RUSH. THE LEGACY OF ALEX LIFESON.

With Rush’s highly anticipated return to the UK in March 2027, including two nights at Manchester’s Co-op Live, there’s never been a more exciting time to celebrate the guitars of Alex Lifeson.

And here at Chordplay Guitars, we’ve secured something rather special.

The Godin LERXST Limelight in stunning Limelight Cream, equipped with the Vega Trem system and supplied with its original LERXST hard case.

Brand new, made in Canada and developed in collaboration with Alex Lifeson himself. We managed to secure just one.

INSPIRED BY THE LEGENDARY HENTOR SPORTSCaster

During the early 1980s, as Rush pushed into increasingly ambitious musical territory, Alex Lifeson needed a guitar capable of delivering an enormous range of sounds.

His solution was the legendary Hentor Sportscaster – a heavily modified Strat-style instrument that became synonymous with his playing throughout one of Rush’s most celebrated eras.

The LERXST Limelight brings that iconic concept into the modern age.

Developed by Alex Lifeson in partnership with Godin, it combines the unmistakable character of his original guitars with modern craftsmanship, bespoke electronics and exceptional playability.

This isn’t simply a vintage reissue. It’s Alex Lifeson’s classic design, refined for today’s player.

PREMIUM CANADIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP

Built in Canada, the Limelight features a beautifully contoured swamp ash body, paired with a hard rock maple neck and an ebony fingerboard.

The 12-inch fingerboard radius and 22 medium stainless steel frets deliver effortless string bending, smooth lead playing and exceptional durability.

Comfortable, responsive and beautifully finished, this is a genuinely premium instrument designed to perform.

CUSTOM MOJOTONE PICKUPS – DESIGNED FOR ALEX LIFESON

The Limelight’s versatile HSS configuration features three custom Mojotone pickups developed specifically to Alex’s requirements.

A powerful double-blade humbucker in the bridge is complemented by two carefully voiced single-coils, delivering everything from articulate cleans to soaring, harmonically rich lead tones.

With the pickups balanced across all positions, this guitar offers the tonal versatility that made Alex’s original Hentor Sportscasters so special.

VEGA TREM & LOCKING TUNERS

This particular example features the superb Vega Trem system, paired with 18:1 ratio Godin locking tuners.

Offering smooth, expressive tremolo performance with excellent tuning stability, it’s a fantastic modern alternative to the traditional Floyd Rose configuration.

Combined with the 25.5-inch scale length, Graph Tech nut and stainless steel frets, the result is a beautifully engineered instrument built for demanding players.

THE FINISHING TOUCHES

The gorgeous high-gloss Limelight Cream finish contrasts beautifully with the black pickguard, chrome hardware and maple headstock.

The reverse of the headstock features Alex Lifeson’s reproduced signature, alongside Godin’s Canadian-made branding.

And the presentation is just as impressive.

The guitar comes complete with its original black LERXST-branded hard case, featuring gold-coloured hardware and a striking deep red plush interior, together with its accompanying accessories and paperwork.

A truly special package for Rush enthusiasts, collectors and players alike.
