The pick used by top musicians worldwide. Tortex picks are carefully designed and manufactured to give the characteristic maximum memory and minimum wear that made original tortoise shell famous.
The early picks were made from celluloid, which was great because it was cheap and sounded a bit like tortoise shell. However, it breaks and wears down easily. It got an upgrade sometime mid-century to Delrin but more could be done, and JD spent over a year developing a refined delrin material specifically for guitar picks. The new delrin has a grippy, matte finish and ‘aggressive’ attack, it has great memory and is hard-wearing - it’s called TORTEX - always in capitals!
