SX SST62+ – Classic Styling, Impressive Quality & Outstanding Value

Few electric guitar designs have stood the test of time quite like the classic ST-style guitar.

With its familiar double-cutaway body, traditional three-pickup configuration and instantly recognisable appearance, it’s a design that has helped shape popular music for generations.

The SX SST62+ captures that timeless appeal while delivering the quality, comfortable playability and versatile sounds that make it such an excellent choice for beginners.

SX has established an excellent reputation for producing affordable instruments that offer far more than their price tags might suggest.

Combining solid wood construction, carefully selected neck materials, quality hardware and impressive finishing, the SST62+ is an instrument that gives new guitarists a fantastic introduction to electric guitar.

We’ve been particularly impressed with these guitars at Chordplay. For the money, they offer a brilliant combination of looks, build quality and versatility, and they’re considerably more appealing than many of the cheaper beginner instruments available.

The SST62+ is a guitar that beginners can enjoy learning on from day one, but one that also offers plenty to explore as their playing develops.

Choose Your Finish – 3-Tone Sunburst or Vintage White

One of the nicest features of this bundle is the choice between two beautiful, classic finishes.

3-Tone Sunburst

A timeless electric guitar colour scheme that blends warm amber and golden tones through rich reddish-brown shading into darker edges.

The traditional sunburst finish highlights the familiar curves of the body beautifully and gives the SST62+ an attractive vintage-inspired appearance.

It’s a colour scheme that’s been associated with countless legendary guitarists and remains one of the most popular electric guitar finishes ever produced.

Vintage White

For those who prefer something a little different, Vintage White offers an equally classic appearance with a clean, understated character.

The warm, creamy finish gives the guitar a beautifully traditional look, with a slightly aged, vintage-inspired feel rather than a stark modern white.

It’s an elegant colour choice that looks fantastic on the familiar ST-style body and works particularly well with the guitar’s contrasting hardware and fittings.

Whichever finish you choose, both versions offer the same excellent construction, versatile electronics and comfortable playing experience.

Solid Basswood Body – Comfortable, Balanced & Versatile

At the heart of the SX SST62+ is a solid basswood body, providing a comfortable playing weight and a balanced, versatile foundation for its three single-coil pickups.

Basswood is widely used in electric guitar construction and is particularly well suited to this style of instrument.

The traditional contoured double-cutaway body shape feels comfortable whether you’re sitting down practising your first chords or standing up playing along to your favourite songs.

The sculpted contours help the guitar sit naturally against the player, while the generous cutaways provide easier access to the upper frets.

For somebody just starting out, a comfortable guitar makes a tremendous difference, and the familiar ST-style design has remained a favourite with players for very good reason.

Canadian Maple Neck – Built for an Enjoyable Playing Experience

The SST62+ features a selected Canadian maple neck, complemented by a darker rosewood-style fingerboard and traditional dot position markers.

The neck offers a comfortable, familiar feel that’s particularly well suited to beginners learning their first chords, scales and melodies.

With 21 nickel frets, a full 648mm / 25.5-inch scale length and a 42mm synthetic bone nut, the guitar provides a traditional electric guitar playing experience.

The two-way adjustable truss rod allows neck relief to be adjusted when required, while chrome die-cast machine heads make tuning straightforward.

Another particularly welcome detail is the inclusion of D’Addario strings, a respected name in guitar strings and an excellent finishing touch on an instrument at this price point.

It’s these thoughtful details that help the SST62+ stand out from many entry-level alternatives.

Three Single-Coil Pickups – Discover Your Own Sound

One of the biggest attractions of an ST-style electric guitar is its impressive versatility, and the SST62+ is no exception.

Equipped with three single-coil pickups, the guitar delivers the bright, expressive and articulate character associated with some of the most recognisable guitar sounds in popular music.

The bridge pickup provides a lively, cutting sound that’s fantastic for rock riffs, punchy rhythm playing and lead guitar.

The middle pickup offers its own distinctive character, while the neck pickup delivers warmer, smoother tones that work beautifully for blues, clean melodies and expressive playing.

Using the pickup selector alongside the volume and tone controls, players can experiment with different sounds and discover how much variety a traditional three-pickup electric guitar can offer.

From classic rock and blues to pop, indie, country and beyond, the SST62+ is a wonderfully versatile instrument for somebody developing their musical interests.

And with the included Kinsman amplifier, you can start exploring those sounds as soon as you get home.

Kinsman BB10 10W Guitar Amplifier – Start Playing Straight Away

Of course, an electric guitar is only half the experience. That’s why we’ve included a Kinsman BB10 10W guitar amplifier in this package.

This compact practice amplifier is an excellent companion for the SX SST62+, offering an accessible introduction to amplified electric guitar sounds without needing a large or expensive setup.

With 10 watts of power, it’s ideally suited to bedroom practice, learning at home and playing along to your favourite songs.

The amplifier offers clean and overdriven sounds, allowing beginners to experiment with everything from clear, sparkling guitar tones to the more driven sounds associated with rock music.

Adjustable gain and tone controls provide further opportunities to shape your sound, while a headphone output is particularly useful for practising more quietly.

Its compact size also makes it easy to accommodate in bedrooms, living rooms or dedicated practice spaces.

Paired with the versatile three-pickup configuration of the SX SST62+, the Kinsman BB10 provides a fantastic starting point for discovering the world of electric guitar.

A Fantastic Gift for an Aspiring Guitarist

An electric guitar is a wonderful gift, whether it’s for a birthday, Christmas or simply to encourage somebody who’s always wanted to learn.

But buying a guitar on its own can leave new players needing to purchase amplifiers, cables, tuners and other accessories before they can really get started.

Our complete beginner’s bundle takes care of all of that.

With a choice of two attractive finishes, a classic electric guitar design and a full selection of essential accessories, it’s a fantastic gift for aspiring guitarists of all ages.

And because the SST62+ is a genuinely enjoyable instrument to play, it’s a package that offers much more than simply ticking the boxes of a beginner’s starter kit.
