CHORDPLAY GUITARS – SX ELECTRIC GUITAR & BASS RANGE

If you’re looking for a great first bass guitar, or simply want an affordable instrument with that familiar Precision-style sound, the SX SPB62+ is an excellent choice.

Finished in a beautiful Candy Apple Red, this traditional four-string bass combines classic styling with comfortable playability, solid construction and the warm, punchy sound that has made this style of bass a favourite for generations.

Featuring a solid basswood body, selected Canadian maple neck and a traditional split-coil pickup, the SPB62+ offers everything you’d expect from a classic P-style bass at a particularly attractive price.

It’s a fantastic instrument for somebody learning bass, but there’s also plenty here to appeal to experienced players wanting an affordable second instrument.

At £199.00, complete with an SX gig bag, it represents excellent value.

Classic Precision Bass Styling

The SPB62+ takes inspiration from one of the most recognisable electric bass designs ever made.

Its familiar contoured body, traditional pickguard design and chrome hardware give it an appearance that’s remained popular for decades.

The Candy Apple Red finish adds a lovely splash of colour, with a deep metallic appearance that really suits this style of instrument.

It’s a traditional-looking bass with plenty of character, equally at home in a rock band, blues group or rehearsal room.

That Classic P-Bass Sound

At the heart of the SPB62+ is a traditional passive split-coil pickup, designed to deliver the familiar warm, rounded and punchy sound associated with Precision-style bass guitars.

It’s a wonderfully versatile sound that works across a wide range of music.

From warm, supportive bass lines to more aggressive rock and punk playing, the SPB62+ provides a strong foundation without complicated electronics.

The controls are refreshingly straightforward, with one volume and one tone knob.

Simply plug in, adjust the tone to suit your playing and enjoy.

Canadian Maple Neck & Comfortable Playability

SX has equipped the SPB62+ with a selected Canadian maple neck, offering a comfortable and familiar playing feel.

The full-scale 864mm neck provides the traditional tension and response associated with long-scale electric bass guitars.

A 42mm nut width and 20 nickel frets give the instrument a classic feel, while the adjustable truss rod allows the neck relief to be maintained as required.

The fingerboard is rosewood or engineered rosewood, depending on the production specification.

Whether you’re learning your first bass lines or already have years of experience, this is a bass that’s enjoyable to play.

Quality Hardware & Traditional Construction

The solid basswood body provides a comfortable foundation for the instrument, while the bolt-on neck construction follows a proven bass guitar design.

Traditional open-gear chrome machine heads give the SPB62+ its classic appearance and allow straightforward tuning adjustments.

The chrome bridge provides individual string adjustments for setting the action and intonation.

Combined with the simple passive electronics, it’s a dependable, uncomplicated instrument.

A Fantastic First Bass Guitar

The SX SPB62+ is particularly appealing for beginners.

It offers the traditional full-scale bass guitar experience, with simple controls, a versatile pickup and a comfortable neck.

Rather than needing to learn complicated electronics, new players can concentrate on the important things: timing, technique and enjoying playing music.

It’s equally appealing as a second bass for more experienced musicians wanting an affordable instrument for home practice, rehearsals or occasional gigs.

We also have a growing range of SX electric guitars and basses available at Chordplay Guitars, so you’re very welcome to visit and compare the different models.

SX Gig Bag Included

Unlike many bass guitars at this price, the SPB62+ comes complete with its own SX BB400 gig bag.

A useful addition for storing your bass and taking it to lessons, rehearsals or practice sessions.

Both the bass guitar and gig bag are included in our £199.00 price.
